Sailing in the DODECANESE
Our love of sailing in Greece generally is well documented throughout this site. Of all the Greek sailing regions, two stand out - the Cyclades and the Dodecanese. In the days when visiting sailors could drop in and out of neighbouring Turkey easily, we would probably have put the Dodecanese at the top of the list. Even now Nisyros, Tilos, Symi, Kalimnos, Patmos, Lipsi, Agathonisi, and Samos weave their magic spell.
There are large charter fleets based in Rhodes, Kos, and Samos. The first two are very well served by flights in season, and flights to Samos are frequent as well and the charter base almost within walking distance.
All three offer attractive one week cruises
Good selection of charter yachts
Several attractive itineraries for a one week cruise
Excellent scenery wherever you go
Suitable for sailors having some experience because it is often quite windy (Force 5 or even 6)
Quick trips to Turkey are currently impossible
