Constant HOT WATER from

Surplus Renewable Energy.

Your current boiler heats water either from an engine heat exchanger or when you are connected to shore power, so if you like sitting in an anchorage for a few days, you have no hot water unless you run the engine or a generator

Yet if you have solar panels, your batteries are usually full by mid-day; the rest is discarded. We use that excess energy to heat your water using our intelligent purpose designed controllers.

Heating water is energy intensive. Our controllers measure both battery charge level and water temperature. They are totally automatic and dedicated solely to your hot water supply while making sure that your batteries are not discharged too much. The replacement heating unit that is part of our kits has been specially modified so that you can insert the temperature probe rather than rely on the in-built thermostat. This allows us to make the system entirely automatic while making sure that it does not use too much power, while guaranteeing constant hot water.

We offer a range of solutions in 12, 48, and 220v configurations depending on your solar and battery installation. 

 

12v 

300-599w  - Solution 12-300

This is ideal for yachts with at least 300w of solar panels and at least 250Ah of domestic lead acid (gel or AGM preferred)  battery capacity. The kit includes a 12v 300w heating element that replaces the 220v unit currently installed.

48v 

600-899w  - Solution 48-600

Your 48v battery pack is connected to an uprated version of our intelligent controller and then directly to a 600w heating unit. You need at least 300A of domestic battery power.

220v

600-1200w  - Solution 220 -1200

This 220v solution adds a 2000w modified sine wave inverter to power a replacement  1200w heating element. The advantage is lighter wiring and quicker water heating while still having an automatic water heating solution.

As well as the controllers we also offer a remote panel option that  repeats the on/off status lights of the controller, and includes a fused on/off switch,

HOW IT WORKS

When the batteries are more than 80% charged and the water less than 42°C the controller either turns on the replacement 12, 24 or 48v heater element in your boiler, OR turns on the dedicated inverter. Switches off at 53°C. Only restarts when batteries again fully charged.
