Yacht Charters in TURKEY

Turkey used to rival Greece and Croatia as a charter destination. The recent decline in bookings from Germany has had an adverse effect on the charter yacht fleet. However there are still reasonable offerings in Bodrum, Marmaris and Goçek.

As in the neighbouring Dodecanese, the season is very long, running from late May to the end of October. Wind conditions are generally excellent, if brisk in summer. The best sailing is between Bodrum in the North as far as Finike to the south. The Gulfs of Gokova, Symi, and Fethiye are outstanding in every way.

There are small towns like Datça and Bozburun; smart resorts like Goçek; heaving noisy places like Bodrum, and a multiplicity of safe inlets with restaurant piers at which to dine. On average, food is more varied and better than in Greece, but drink is expensive and less good.
